My friend in Orlando just told me the city has banned all drones, unless you get a permit from the city and jump thru all sorts of other hoops. Not sure if it's true or not, maybe somebody down there can confirm.

I'd buy some extra props and you need at least one and preferably two extra batteries. As far as mods go, I don't know of any.

They wanted me to do a similar thing, but I didn't want to risk a crash. I just shipped it back to Amazon for a refund. If you do fly it till empty, just hover it a few inches over the ground, or maybe have someone hold it while the motors run.

I think the only difference is the cheaper model uses wifi for the video feed, and therefore it's range to receive the video feed is less. The drone itself is identical other than that and flys the same.
