    9000mah Extended Battery (Experimental)

The racing quads routinely have batteries strapped well above center or below, and don't seem the worse for it. The flight performance may suffer some due to a little bit of balance issues, but the flight controllers can deal with amazing levels of abuse.

    Date/time stamp

Theoretically, you could generate a CRC hash utilizing the video file and the time/date stamp. If that code were recorded via a text message or ideally a notary, on that day, it could provide traceability to the original recording with time/date stamp. Good luck explaining that process to a...

    Firmware version 1.3.3.17 released

Is there a way to use that function without uploading all your flight records to the Autel servers?

    Date/time stamp

Simplest method might be to always take-off and the show a picture of the day's newspaper headline? Even if you could add it, that proves nothing. I can always set the clock wrong...

    evo is amazing

$2500 for something with a max 1km radio, and 20min flight time....That's a huge fail. That Evolve is a Phantom 3 with a carbon shell and fancy controller. EDIT: Ok, I will give them credit for putting in a low latency Connex video feed, but that's still an interesting choice. On a camera...

    Odd ego crash

That sounds like a electrical or mechanical failure. Should be a straight-forward warranty claim.

    Maybe dumb question

I probably wouldn't fly below 0F. Fly in cold weather shouldn't be a problem, the main thing to watch is battery life, so don't try extreme flights. If the batteries are kept warm in the car, and then tossed in and flying relatively quickly, they will self-heat and should have nearly normal...

    GPS signal "weak"

Fairly easily. GPS is not good enough for autonomous driving, because it can't detect what lane you're in. Most car GPS receivers look like they're more accurate than they really are, because the system assumes that you're on the road. Autonomous cars have another ace up their sleeve for...

Pathetic maiden flight but I loved it

I did about the same my first couple of flights. Terrified of doing something wrong. Honestly, the best thing I did was buying something like: https://smile.amazon.com/SG700-Altitude-Quadcopter-Batteries-Beginners/dp/B07CZZL6VQ/ It was fairly durable and great for learning how to fly...

There Can Be Only One (drone)...

DJI NFZ restrictions are only defined as circles (center+radius), as a result they frequently don't line up with actual FAA restrictions.

Waypoint Feature - why the limit?

    The limit is 500m.

    Evo or Mavic 2 Zoom

It's close to Occusync 1.0, 2.0 isn't really more than a minor upgrade. 2.0 extends the range slightly and allows for 1080p downlinks.

    Evo or Mavic 2 Zoom

The Evo's link is almost as good as Occusync. It will take you well beyond legal line of sight limits in any conditions. The Evo app on Android is good, and you don't have to deal with DJI.

Will the Evo wifi evolve to something more advanced?

Thanks for the link. What he says is that Occusync is using a SDR (software defined radio), which is programmable radio chip, it essentially let DJI program whatever waveform they want. Most wifi systems use cheaper WiFi only radios. Occusync requires the SDR chip (it's similar to one found...

Initial drifting from home upon start up

GPS can take up to a minute to obtain full lock in a new location. The texture of the takeoff location matters a lot at 20ft, that's starting to tax the vision system if there's no big items for it to lock on. High winds just make the GPS problem worse.
