Well I took my X-Star apart the other day and took a couple of photos of what is on the inside. You can see that the frame has small metal threads throughout for the small bolts to hold the frame together. The pieces of plastic feel flimsy when they are apart, but once they are bolted together...

Autel has technically been in business longer (Automotive sector) compared to DJI. However, I think we can all agree that Autel's "first" UAV product (X-Star) is a good contender against DJI and may have pushed DJI to "up" their customer support in the USA. You can bet more is to come from...

I have them (Freewells) on my XSP and they go on and come off just fine.

Clear line of sight I have had my XSP at one mile. The build quality is great i.e. the plastic is thicker than the phantom 3 line, the remote control is more solid, plus you get more for your $$$. Some people have had minor issues, but out of the box it flies great.

Had that happen with a phantom 3 Adv once....i finally got it to return to home after shutting down the remote power, and powering back on.

I'm thinking there may be an issue with starlink and iOS. I like apple but the video lag and pixelation still happens, more so than my P3A. I demo mine to others and at short ranges really no issues. Not sure if its my area I fly in or because i'm using iOS devices... Are you using android or iOS?

As far as repair parts, the shells are available which come with the landing gear and screws for $69 I believe. Gimbals are 399 But don't appear available yet. As far as motors and internal components - not out yet

I think those look really nice, RJ! How would the installation be for the end-user? Another idea for the feet - instead of worrying about the small notch at the bottom you could make it solid and put rubber "boots" on the feet to add in cushioning those hard landings. . . Are the orange inside...
