Just curious if anyone has used one of these, and if you could create prop guards or landing gear, or would they be too flimsy?

To be fair, I have not used one of the pens, but I do have a 3D printer. I have avoided the pens as I am not sure how useful it would be. Most seem to use a very specific filament. With the price of 3D printers coming down you may want to go that route. Check out the Monoprice models as they are very affordable for the smaller models. Then you will be able to print out things for the quad. Be forewarned, there are no many files floating on the web for the XSP. I have only found gimbal locks.

I used a 3D printing pen to repair an XSP frame. One of the arms took a good hit, causing the screws to rip the brass inserts out. I used the pen to reinforce the frame from the inside, and filled the holes with the pen. I the drilled some small ish holes, and pushed the brass inserts back in on the tip of a soldering iron. The plastic I used was ABS.

I should be releasing the files for my landing gear risers before year end.
