Hi all, just got a refurbished X-Star Wifi last week. I live in the Peninsula in California, not too far from Half Moon Bay. Got about three flights in so far, and loving it! Still have a bit to learn, but getting there. This is my fifth bird to date, glad to add it to the hangar. I look forward to reading and contributing to this forum!

Welcome from Hawaii. I spend a good deal of time in Silicon Valley, and it’s hard to find places to fly in the San Francisco Bay Area. Half Moon Bay is one, but you I go south of town to find truly open spaces. It’s a long drive on clogged roads for me, you’re lucky to already be there. I haven’t found a single legal place to fly from SF to SJ along the bay front....

Yeah, it can be tough to find good places to fly. It's just so crowded in the Bay Area. Luckily I'm in the mountains, far from airports and cities and the like, so I've got a few places I can go. Plus I've got a nice pasture to fly around in. Not much room, but enough for practice. Biggest problem I face here is the wind, lol.

Yea, I hear ya. I wanted to fly off the cliffs south of Gregorio, but it’s always been blowing a gale, the updrafts off the cliff may work for hang gliders, not drones...
