I'm heading to the Interdrone show in Vegas tomorrow with a buddy. Bought a pass for the exhibition halls only. $75 vs. $650 to attend the conference sessions. I will try and take pictures and will report back.

Walked the hall for a couple of hours today. Got to see a demo flight of a Yuneec H520 drone with the 4K 39mm camera. The retractable landing gear was cool, clearing the way for the 360 degree camera gimbal. Very quiet drone, very maneuverable. I was impressed!

This show is really geared to the commercial market; not many hobbyists walking the floors.

I took some pictures and video, and will share them once I have WiFi access. I'm going back tomorrow and will take more photos, grab more literature, and write a better report.

I did see the Water Strider in the flesh. It is very light weight but big. I'm sure it affects the aerodynamics of the drone.

I only saw one XSP in the hall in a booth for a distributor primarily focused on selling DJI hardware. Neither DJI nor Autel had a direct booth presence.

Hi Bigbit, I hope you visited the 809 booth where the 4hawks are and entered the draw for a Raptor, if you don't want it I have my hand raised at the back.:)
How was today's visit? Tell us some if you can.

Hey guys, I’m back from Vegas, but a little under the weather. I’ll post a detailed report sometime soon, but wanted to pass one deal on to you all. Saw a company called Vufine that make an HDMI-driven viewer that mounts on your glasses to give you an FPV while still allowing you to see the world. Vufine | Wearable Displays, Simplified. They’re offering a $30 discount through September by using code drone17 when checking out on their website.

OMG that's cool!!
Gonna start putting my pennies away. That would solve people wanting to fly VR headsets and not violating FAA rules!

Did you have the opportunity to try them?

I saw them on Amazon a while ago & figured they couldn't work very well or everybody would be using them.

I wonder how compatible they would be with our Autel setups?

Let me report on an idea I had re: the Vufine glasses, which require an HDMI input. I remembered that I had an HDMI output adapter for my iPhone. It has a male lightning connector on one end and a block with HDMI and lightning female connectors on the other. First, I connected it with an HDMI cable to my HDTV, and was able to view the Starlink display on my HDTV. So far, so good. I then ran the lightning USB cable from the adapter to the R/C and tried to get a live feed from the drone on my phone and HDTV, but the R/C would not connect with my phone through this adapter. So there’s no way that I can see that you could make the Vufine work in the Apple world. You definitely need a tablet like the nVidia that has an HDMI output to have any chance to make this device work with an XSP.

One vendor at the show was LensPen: Our Products. They make lens cleaning tools with a retractable brush on one end a fibrous cleaner on the other end. Does a real nice job of cleaning camera and eyeglass lenses. The guy was selling them for $10 each but sold me 4 for $20.

There were a couple of companies that made large capacity LiPo battery-based chargers that allow you to in turn recharge your drone batteries in the field. One was Energen: DroneMax – Energen

Here’s a scan of the literature on it in their booth.

Information on the Nexus Indemnus parachute deployment system for drones. The device was very large and if deployed, requires the owner to return the device to Nexus for recharging / repacking.
