New guy on the block. I'm retired but was a professional pilot/military pilot/instructor. Decided to "play" with a drone because it's cheaper than renting an airplane. Really just wanted something to explore with and got a good deal from a neighbor. I have been impressed how untoylike this thing is. Everything about it is professional and will compliment my photography equipment well. I plan on taking the FAA exam but doubt I'll do any real for hire work.
Already have had some exciting times. I have a lot of land and mostly woods. After my fourth flight the wind got the best of me and a tree swallowed my X-Star. Had to cut the tree down to get my machine back. No damage though which pleased me. Oh well, more fire wood for next winter.
