When refilling the bird feeder and adding cayenne pepper so the chipmunks & squirrels don't eat it all remember not to breath it in LOL

Birds don't care. They eat anything. They have guts of steel. The chipmunks will eat it till they release its fricken hot in their mouth and start skidding across the deck whith their chins down to cool them off. :)
The big grey squirrels really don't seem to mind. The hotter the better. I have some pretty hot stuff rated the highest on the internet and the grey one just ate it like it was desert. The old ones have a rock gut and can eat anything from what I have been seeing.

The Carolina Reaper is officially the Worlds Hottest Pepper as ranked by Guinness Records. Wonder if they could eat this stuff.

The only cure for squirrels is cats. The cats don't catch many but the seed is safe. If the feeder is high enough the birds are fairly safe.

I enjoy the Slinky-on-pole solution. The squirrels sometimes defeat it, but the videos are fun to watch...

Vaseline on the pole is pretty amusing but it doesn't last.
